The miraculously preserved Empire mansion, which is more than two hundred years old, is a real pearl of literary Moscow. The leading role was played by the fact that Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev lived and worked here when he was in Moscow. It is this manor that is described in the story of I.S. Turgenev "Mumu", and its inhabitants became the prototypes of the heroes of the work. The writer worked on the story in St. Petersburg, but here, in the Ostozhensky house, poems and poems, magazine articles and even the famous story "Bezhin Meadow" from the "Notes of the Hunter" were created. This house witnessed the formation of a young writer who received worldwide recognition during his lifetime.
